About Spier:

The Village at Spier hotel, a 155 bedroomed hotel just outside Stellenbosch in the heart of the world renowned Cape winelands, is only 15 minutes from the beaches of Gordon's Bay and the Strand and a quick 30-minute drive from central Cape Town.

Holiday makers who want to combine the ultimate winelands holiday with fun in the surf on a white-sanded Cape beach are in for a pleasant surprise.

Shoppers who want to remain in the winelands yet still want to shop, can visit the nearby Somerset Mall which is host to all the well-known chain stores and which boasts cinemas screening current films. Alternatively, in the other direction and only 7 minutes from Spier, there are a host of charming 'olde worlde' shops to choose from in Stellenbosch itself.

Golf:

Golfers have a wide choice of greens - from Spier's own 18 hole course, to courses of international repute such as the Stellenbosch Golf Course and the Erinvale Golf Course outside Somerset West.

Just 15 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, on the arterial N2 - the start of the Garden Route - The Village at Spier has pioneered a new concept in relaxed, stylish hotel accommodation.

Spier is an internationally renowned winelands destination, which offers village ambience, superb restaurants and the peace and tranquillity of a farm-fresh atmosphere.

The Village at Spier comprises thirty-two double-storey buildings grouped around six private courtyards, each with its own pool and entertainment area.
The environmentally conscious will be pleased to know that Spier's commitment to environmentally friendly practices and conservation of resources can be seen in their waste management system, their use of natural fibres and their homegrown produce.

For more information on the wine route and the best places to go, contact Ken and he will be able to advise you.

Children at Spier Wine estate:

Spier is a great place for kids! With wide open spaces, picnics at the Deli play area, and a large, enclosed Play Garden across the river built just for children, Spier is committed to educational and wholesome play through the medium of tactile discovery and imagination.

For guests at the Village Hotel, a Kid's Clubhouse and a range of supervised children's activities are available year round

Moyo Africa:

Experience a truly unique, modern sophisticated African winter at Moyo at Spier. We will continue to serve our sumptuous buffet and thrill our guests with indigenous live entertainment. Our winter guests will dine in a much more personal and cozy atmosphere. The 765m2 covered dining space is scattered with mushroom heaters and traditional African blankets are placed on all the chairs to keep out the winter chill. Our performers mingle through the tables giving guests a very intimate experience.

Moyo at Spier is an unforgettable outdoor dining experience that captures the essence of our unique Cape African culture. A fusion of modern sophisticated décor and distinctly African flavoured dishes create an inspiring culinary affair. Relax and enjoy the spectacular vistas while you are treated to our own colourful brand of Cape African hospitality. Serving an extensive buffet as rich and exciting as the many diverse cultures we draw from.

The tree-lined garden is filled with Bedouin tents and gazebos made from wrought iron and the tree houses are clad with beautiful hand crafted copper water features.

Live performers will entertain you to indigenous theatre, dance, opera and traditional storytelling from noon until late. Young visitors (under 12) are also welcome as we offer exciting programmes on ecology, drumming workshops, African storytelling and so much more!
