The Blyde Adventure Camp is situated on the banks of the
Lower Blyde River near the Blyde Canyon. Lots of small game
like, duikers, impalas, caracals, civet, banded mongoose and indigenous
flora is found on our property. During your stay here you
are more than welcome to enjoy our volleyball court with a spectacular
view of the surrounding mountains of the Escarpment.
Blyde River
Canyon:
Extreme whitewater experience. Running the Blyde River will earn you
the distinction of having rafted one of the most spectacular rivers
in the world..The canyon is one of the most unspoilt wilderness
areas in the country. It is the third biggest canyon of its kind in
the world, after the Grand- and Fish River canyons. Take a rare opportunity
to see the famous Three Rondavels from
water level. We negotiate grade 1 – 4 rapids. Lunch is served
on the banks of the Blyde River. At the foot of the three
Rondawels we stop over at Wet Camel for the night. The camp
consists of A-frame huts with mattresses and an outdoor area where
supper and breakfast is served. The showers have hot water
and a toilet, although primitive, the scenery will take your breath
away.
Facilities at the Blyde Adventure Camp:
- swimming in pools and rapids in Lower Blyde River under supervision
of qualified adventure guide (if the guests wants a supervisor)
- 7km of easy hiking paths on the property
